Earlier this week, we took a look at how Sony Bend is attempting to craft a different kind of open-world game with Days Gone, eschewing the activity-filled sandbox formula for a more focused and cohesive experience. But that doesn't mean players won't have plenty to keep them busy as they navigate the freaker-infested high-desert region of Oregon. Sony Bend is working hard to create compelling and rewarding gameplay loops that provide numerous forms of progression for Deacon. Ubisoft Revealing A 2018 Tentpole Title At E3

During Ubisoft's financial call today, the French publisher teased information about the rest of its year for major games. With the news that their pirate combat game Skull & Bones is getting delayed to next year, Ubisoft explained that they still expect to release three more major AAA titles this year even without Skull & Bones. Two of the titles are already known, The Crew 2 to be released next month and The Division 2 which will be unveiled at E3 and released this Fall. The third game, Ubisoft explained, is going to be revealed at E3 and be a major part of Ubisoft's release schedule this financial year. The Wal-Mart Canada leak, which the retailer has claimed was based purely on speculation, suggested that an Assassin's Creed title is on the way, but there have also been rumors of a new Watch Dogs in development. Man, we’re so excited for Royal Blood. It’s an upcoming MMORPG that promises to behave exactly like those on PC, and you can pre-register for it right now. Do so on Google Play and you’ll get an extra 300 diamonds and 200,000 gold on top of however much you get for pre-registering anyway. Presumably, that’s a lot. Microsoft Reveals Accessibility-Minded Xbox Controller

Update : Microsoft has officially unveiled the controller, called the Xbox Adaptive Controller. Microsoft says that the controller "can be connected to external buttons, switches, joysticks and mounts, giving gamers with a wide range of physical disabilities the ability to customize their setups." Hot off the news that the Virtual Console isn’t coming to the Nintendo Switch, many gamers are understandably disappointed. The Switch is the perfect device for playing older games, as they can be played both on the go and on the big screen, so why in the heck is Nintendo dropping this lob of easy money and goodwill among its fanbase? Talking to the Locals isn’t Always Helpful in Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk’s

Today, NIS America released some new footage for Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk that, while not really revealing any new information, provided fans with some insight into the character of Dronya the Witch. While it could be called gameplay, the video is really just a snippet of an early game conversation between Dronya and a drunkard named Newt. As one might expect, Newt wound up being less than helpful. It looks like Dronya had Newt pegged right from the beginning, but decided to keep the conversation going just long enough to give him a good ribbing. She definitely seems the sort to avoid if one has nothing useful to say to her. If the rest of the main cast possess at least this level of personality, then Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk should have plenty of comedic potential to offer its players. Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk is set for a fall release on PC, PS4 and Switch.

Guildlings by Threes! dev Sirvo is coming soon to Android

Guildlings is the next big release by the epic developer of Threes!, Sirvo. This announcement coincides with a brand new teaser trailer showing off what we can expect from the game. We already know that it will be episodic, with the first chapter shown off in the trailer. It appears to be a point and click adventure with a gorgeous visuals style. Guildlings is the next game by Threes! developer Sirvo There’s a lot more going on in the trailer. It appears you hold the phone inportrait and use your thumb to slide around the screen, with your character following it. Well, not just one character. In the trailer, we see various other characters following the protagonist around. The protagonist appears to have some kind of mysterious phone-like device too. That’s all we can really gather from the trailer. It certainly has piqued our interest though, which is exactly what a teaser is supposed to do. Skull & Bones Has Been Delayed

Looks like fans of the high seas will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on Skull & Bones, Ubisoft's ambitious pirate game. Today the publisher revealed that the game was going to be pushed out of a 2018 release window to the next fiscal year: Skull and Bones will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One X and PC during Ubisoft’s next fiscal year (from April 1st 2019 to March 31st, 2020). The extra time will allow the team at Ubisoft Singapore to deliver on their ambition to create the ultimate pirate game. Ubisoft notes that they'll be sharing more about the game at E3 this year.

The Virtual Life – How Yakuza 6 Makes Old New Again

Red Dead, GTA Company Responds To Fortnite's Massive Success

"It's our job to innovate." Fortnite has taken the gaming world by storm, and now Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto parent company Take-Two Interactive has responded yet again to the game's success. During an earnings call today, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick doubled down on what he said before: you don't become an industry leader by following what other teams have done before you. Speaking to analysts, Zelnick said he doesn't expect his studios--2K Games and Rockstar Games--to follow in the footsteps of Fortnite and PUBG. "I think if one changed one's business to follow other people's big hits, you'd be constantly playing catch up," he said. "And to say you wouldn't be in second place is an understatement.
